Free 15-Minute Phone Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation for all new clients prior to your first appointment. During this time, we can explore what your concerns are and I will do my best to answer any questions you may have regarding counseling options, office policies, and fees/billing. Through this process, we can decide if I am the best person to provide the services you need in order to meet your goals. If we agree to move forward, an initial appointment will be scheduled.
If psychotherapy is warranted and we agree to start follow-up sessions, I will typically schedule one 50-minute session (one appointment hour of 50 minute duration) per week at a mutually agreed upon day and time. Occasionally, when needed, additional sessions may be arranged or more occasional sessions such as bi-weekly or monthly can be arranged.
First Appointment
Our first meeting will involve an evaluation of your needs, while offering an opportunity for us to get to know one another better. During this time you should get a greater sense of how I work and who I am. I will ask you questions regarding your current concerns, as well as past experiences that may be related to these issues. By the end of the evaluation, I will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work will include and a treatment plan to follow, if you decide to continue with therapy. Please take advantage of the opportunity to evaluate this information, along with your own opinions of whether you feel comfortable working with me. Therapy involves a commitment of time, money, and energy, so it is important to me that you feel like we are a good match. If you feel like we are not a good fit, I will be happy to provide you with referrals to other therapists.
